On Wednesday, Delhi Police arrested Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal.
After hearing defamation case filed by BJP President Nitin Gadkari Delhi’s Patiala court judge, Gomati Manocha ordered Kejriwal to give 10 thousand rupees for granting bail. However, the former Chief Minister of Delhi refused to take bail by giving 10 thousand rupees. On hearing Kejriwal said, “This is a political case; I am ready to go to jail if necessary. I don’t want a conditional bail.
After that, the judge ordered to take Kejriwal in judicial custody until the next hearing on May 23. Sources said he will be kept in Tihar jail until Friday.
At the end of January this year, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal listed India’s corrupt leaders and ministers. Big leaders of Congress, BJP and another party’s names come up in the list such as Rahul Gandhi, P. Chidambaram, Sushil Kumar Shinde, Nitin Gadkari.
Then BJP leader Nitin Gadkari said Kejriwal to apologise within three days. However, after refusing for seeking forgiveness this BJP leader filed a defamation case against Kejriwal.
