Left parties today required an intensive probe into coal block allocation scam and also the bribery episode within the Railway Ministry, hrs after Union Ministers Pawan Kumar Bansal and Ashwani Kumar quit.

CPI (M) and CPI accused the federal government and Congress of “obduracy” in not asking the 2 to resign earlier and save the other half from the budget session of Parliament from disruption.

“They’ve done an excellent injustice to Parliament” by not asking Kumar and Bansal to stop earlier, CPI (M) leader Nilotpal Basu stated.

His senior party friend Basudeb Acharia stated the government’s “obduracy brought towards the entire other half from the budget session getting completely cleaned out.”

“Parliament will not have been adjourned sine die 2 days in front of schedule had the federal government and Congress party listened to towards the Opposition interest in resignation of those two Ministers,” he stated.

“It’s a shame on UPA II that a lot of ripoffs and corruption accusations are coming one to another. Seven Ministers within the last couple of years resigned because of corruption charges, while the first is in the Ministry.

Additionally, it required an intensive probe into “tampering” of CBI probe set of coal scam through the Prime Minister’s Office and searched for measures to create CBI an “independent and autonomous” body.
