Maoist guerrillas killed the 15 Jawans of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and five policemen in Sukma district of the Indian state of Chhattisgarh.
On Monday morning at 10 am, a group of 80 CRPF Jawans came out for a tramp from Tongpal Thana of Sukma district. More than 200 armed Maoists attacked the Jawans in the area of the joint between Jiramghati and Tongpal.
Additional Director General of Police (Intelligence) Mukesh Gupta said that a team of 80 CRPF Jawans and state police were jointly searching in Jiramghati of Tongpal Thana. Maoist militants detonated a powerful explosion at the time. Then they started firing indiscriminately. 44 police could come out intact from the place.
