Vijayalakshmi Vadlapati known commonly as Silk Smitha was an Indian film artiste who labored mainly within the South Indian languages. She joined the film industry being an extra actress, and first got observed on her role as “Silk” within the 1979 Tamil film Vandichakkaram.
